Games Around The World 2024

On Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, the DuPage Hispanic Alliance (DHA) participated in the Kite Fly 2024 event at Frontier Park in Naperville, IL. The event was organized by The Branch-Naperville Moms and the Naperville Park District.

Games Around the World

DHA collaborated with KidsMatter to bring to you: “Games Around the World”, We represented the countries of Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Guatemala. Our volunteers introduced attendees to traditional games from these Latin American nations:

  • Panama: Soccer
  • Mexico: Loteria
  • Colombia: Balero
  • Ecuador: El Sapo
  • Guatemala: Yoyos

Of course, it was a joy to see children and adults enjoying these games and learning about the cultural heritage of our Latin American community. In addition, other organizations showcased games from China, India, USA, Ireland, and other Latin American countries.

Chinelos de Morelos

A standout moment of the event was having the Chinelos de Morelos, traditional costumed dancers originating from Mexican colonial times. These traditional costumed dancers originate from Mexican colonial times.
